UPSC (Prelims )Test includes primarily GS Paper(I) ,which is the basis for selection in Preliminary Exam however few Tests comprising Syllabus of CSAT ,which is Qualifying in the nature .The Conventional part is given emphasis being static in nature. This includes History(Ancient, Medieval & Modern) ,Geography (World and India),Indian Polity, Environment & Biodiversity, Science & Technology ,Economics, Topics from Economics Survey, India Year Book ,Economic Development etc. The Test covering Current Affairs are in the end of Test Series ,to avoid undue emphasis on the current affairs, which is very dynamic.
SSC (Tier-I) includes 4 segment on Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Numerical Ability and English Comprehension and Tier-II Exam with syllabus covering mainly Arithmatic and Numerical ability and English Comprehension. The new mode of SSC examination is Online for Tier-I&II and offline for tier-III(for which seperate study material will be provided).Hence online test series becoms prerequisite for preparing for SSC exam, which is gateway to various Group B &C Central Services.The main aim for this module is to make you comfortable and competent for this new format of Online Exam pattern.
With recent changes in pattern of SSC exam in tier -I other than Online exam is reduction of Time duration & Number of Questions to attempted in Online exam. This has resulted in change in nature of questions i.e. from Speed Test to Testing Knowledge with accuracy ,this paradigm shift has made this exam(SSC) as subset of UPSC Prelims(GS+CSAT ),in terms of study material, coverage of topics, nature of questions etc. The social background and Educational qualification, of Aspirants and Selected Candidates in both exams in recent times is testimony to above facts .Thus it is high time to start with SSC and finish up with UPSC.
